Burlesque Oil Painting by John ZeringueJohn S. Zeringue III, a native New Orleanian, has exhibited works throughout Louisiana. During his New Orleans public art honorarium of "Sobek's Hydra" in the "Festival of Fins" John's work was on display at the prestigious Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans. Since 2000 John has won four public art honorariums and five awards of Merit from the city of New Orleans and other local art institutions. His artwork has continued to garner the attention of admirers and collectors throughout the United States. He continues to produce new works, including commissions, and maintains a clientele of private and corporate collectors.

John is influenced by his New Orleans culture and heritage, namely Mardi Gras. The human form is the common thread running throughout his body of work and the subject for which he is most known and appreciated. Whether depicting the mythical and symbolic in his Mardi Gras costume designs, or the recurrent themes of ordinary pursuits of pleasure, and leisure in his collection of male nudes, Mr. Zeringue's style and quality is readily recognized.
