GEYO received a Bachelors
of Fine Art from the University of New Orleans in 1987,
concentrating in painting, graphic design and photography.
She studied along side of Calvin Harlan, Dick Johnson, Ron
Todd, and Tom Young, and with advisory professors such as
Howard Jones, Jim Richard, Doyle Gertejensen, and Cary Staples.
Beginning in 1971 for her design for the Algiers Centennial
Poster, GEYO has won several awards and honorariums for
her work. In 1994 GEYO was an honorarium and award winner
for the City Planning Commission Logo Contest of New Orleans.
"Louisiana Politics Makes Strange Bedfellows"
created in 2000 was an honorarium winner for the Festival
of Fins Public Art Project and was displayed at the Fairmont
Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. GEYO's most outstanding
accomplishment has been the 2002 Premier Print Award / Certificate
of Merit for textbook design in Concepts of Basic Mathematics
and Applied Petroleum Mathematics (Spanish version - Well
Control School).
GEYO currently works in the medical field
as a graphic designer and has taught on the college level
after working in advertising and marketing for over 12 years.
